The weather is getting warmer and summer will be here before we know it. Now is a great time to get ready for your library’s summer reading program. The new Summer Reading Subject Guide on GoWYLD has valuable information and resources to help you make your summer reading program a great adventure for your library patrons and staff!
The subject guide has three tabs: the Wyoming Summer Reading Program homepage, Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP) News & Resources for Librarians and Library Staff, and CSLP 2024 Adventure Partners: USDA Smokey Bear Reading Challenge. Each is packed with links to resources to answer all of your questions regarding summer reading.
The Wyoming Summer Reading Program homepage tab has an overview of the Wyoming Summer Reading Program and includes a link to CSLP’s homepage, links to the online storefronts that offer official CSLP merchandise available for purchase, and contact information for the Wyoming State Library’s Youth Services Consultant, Letitia Bulic.
The CSLP News and Resources for Librarians and Library Staff tab has a link to the 2024 CSLP Toolkit, the most recent CSLP newsletters, information and resources related to the 2024 CSLP artists, Juana Martinez-Neal and Rob Donnelly, announcements and links to CSLP events, including the 2024 CSLP Conference and discussion sessions regarding future CSLP themes and slogans, and opportunities to become a CSLP committee member.
The CSLP Adventure Partner tab features information and resources related to CSLP’s 2024 Adventure Partner, the USDA Smokey Bear Reading Challenge. Smokey Bear, the U.S. Forest Service’s lovable and historic mascot turns 80 this summer. The Smokey Bear Reading Challenge gives libraries and their patrons the opportunity to join in the celebration! You’ll find information on the challenge and a link to sign up, as well as links to free online printables, digital incentive items, and resource videos in both English and Spanish.
As summer gets closer, so does summer reading. Find everything you need to make your library’s summer reading program a success on the Summer Reading Subject Guide on GoWYLD!
