Cloud Library Updates - December 14th, 2016
A new release of the Android app for Cloud Library is now available (3.1.9). There have also been recent updates to the app for iOS and Kindle Fire. Please note that Kindle Fire users must manually install the Kindle Fire app. See instructions here: http://www.yourcloudlibrary.com/index.php/en-us/get-the-app/kindle-fire
The web app at https://ebook.yourcloudlibrary.com/library/wyominglibraries/Featured now allows for reading in the web browser, which is a significant change and all apps now allow for users to place holds on pre-pub purchased titles.
Zinio (Recorded Books Digital) user issues - December 15, 2016
Some users continue to have problems creating new accounts or logging into their existing accounts in Zinio. For most users, a password reset will resolve these issues. If errors persist, contact RB Digital support using the form on the website at http://wyomingstatewy.oneclickdigital.com/#help (click on Support and then Submit Ticket). Users logging in to the websites for both Zinio for Libraries and OneClickDigital will be prompted to link their accounts if they also have an account on the other service. Please note that this linking is not always successful, as users may have set up accounts using different emails or usernames. After the OneClick and Zinio apps are fully integrated in 2017, these messages will no longer appear.
Total Boox - Known Issue with iOS 10
Users with Apple devices on iOS 10 will not be able to enter library cards with alpha characters in them. Earlier versions of iOS did not have this issue, and this bug has been reported to the vendor.
SIRS Knowledge Source - known issue September 08, 2016
Please be aware that although content from SIRS Issues Researcher is showing when using the SIRS Knowledge Source database, the University's subscription has not changed, and UW is working with Proquest to try to see that this problem is rectified.
The content GoWYLD users are supposed to have access to is Government Reporter, Renaissance, Educator's Resources, and other basic Knowledge Source content. After a recent redesign to the interface, it appears that Issues Researcher content is showing in error and is prominently displayed. GoWYLD offers Opposing Viewpoints in Context from Gale as an alternative resource for this type of content.
Tutorials now available
Quick start guides to electronic resources now appear on selected GoWYLD pages. The Wyoming State Library's Niche Academy includes video tutorials for digital content, such as downloadable ebooks and audiobooks, Novelist Plus, LearningExpress Library, Chilton Auto Repair, Mango Languages and more. In addition to the main WSL Niche Academy page, you can access the tutorials from a pullout tab on the right on GoWYLD.net and on the main digital content pages.
